Vietnam’s Equity Movers: FPT, Petrovietnam-Idico Long Son

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 11 a.m. local-time close.

The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, fell 6.8 points, or 1.5 percent, to 447.57.

FPT Corp. (FPT) , Vietnam’s biggest publicly traded telecommunications and software company, gained 0.9 percent to 53,500 dong. The company plans to pay its shareholders a dividend of 1,000 dong a share on Oct. 19, according to a company filing on the bourse’s website.

Petrovietnam-Idico Long Son Industrial Park Investment Joint-Stock Co. (PXL VN), a builder and developer of industrial parks, rose 3.5 percent to 5,900 dong. The company plans to buy back 1 million shares from Sept. 27 through Dec. 27, according to a statement on the exchange’s website.
