Thailand Stocks: Pico, PTT Exploration, Ratchaburi Electricity

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 4:30 p.m. close in Bangkok.

The SET Index fell 9.84 points, or 0.9 percent, to 1,062.37, halting three days of gains. The gauge has decreased 0.3 percent this week.

Pico (Thailand) Pcl (PICO TB), a provider of marketing activities and exhibitions, jumped 4.2 percent to 3.94 baht, the highest close since the stock listed in April 2004. Profit for the three months ended June 30 increased to 12.8 million baht ($425,815) from 5.8 million baht in the same period a year earlier.

PTT Exploration & Production Pcl (PTTEP) , Thailand’s only publicly traded oil explorer, dropped 2.4 percent to 163 baht. Crude oil fell in New York yesterday after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke said he sees increasing risk in the economic outlook.

Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Pcl (RATCH) , gained 1.7 percent to 44.50 baht, the highest close since June 2008. The power producer will spend 80 million baht to acquire a 40 percent stake in Songkhla Biomass Co., it said in a regulatory filing.
