Peru Stocks: Candente, Maple, Relapasa, Southern Copper, Volcan
The following companies are having unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 1:19 p.m. New York time.
The Lima General Index gained 0.8 percent to 20,087.85. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index rose 0.3 percent to 2,660.32.
Copper and zinc miners gained after metals surged in New York and London, said Hernando Pastor, an analyst at Lima-based Juan Magot y Asociados SAB.
Volcan Cia. Minera SAA (VOLCAAC1 PE), Peru’s largest zinc producer, jumped 5.1 percent to 4 soles. Southern Copper Corp. (SCCO) , Peru’s biggest copper producer, rose 3.8 percent to $32.80. Candente Copper Corp. (DNT) , a Canadian exploration company, advanced 3.5 percent to $1.17. Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde SA (CVERDEC1 PE), a unit of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc., climbed 3.1 percent to $39.30.
Fuel refiners rebounded after crude futures in New York advanced.
Refineria la Pampilla SA (RELAPAC1 PE), a unit of Spain’s Repsol YPF SA known as Relapasa, rose 3.7 percent to 84 centimos. Maple Energy Plc (MPLE) , the oil and natural gas producer with operations in Peru, gained 0.9 percent to $1.08.
