Nutrition 21 Supplement Maker Files Bankruptcy with $122.8 Million in Debt
Nutrition 21 Inc. (NXXI), a developer of pharmaceutical type supplements, filed for bankruptcy in White Plains, New York.
The Chapter 11 petition today listed $122.8 million in liabilities and less than $7.2 million in assets. Subsidiaries Heart’s Content Inc., Iceland Health LLC and Nutrition 21 LLC also filed. The Purchase, New York-based company’s products include Chromax chromium picolinate and Zinmax zinc picolinate, according to its website.
Revenue comes from sale of patented ingredients to vitamin and supplement makers, for human and animal nutrition, according to the company’s website.
The case is In re Nutrition 21 LLC, 11-23712, Southern District of New York (Manhattan).
