Fortress, Mr Price Group, Naspers May Move in Early Johannesburg Trading
The following stocks may rise or fall in South Africa. Symbols are in parentheses and prices are from the last close. The FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index declined 255.14, or 0.9 percent, to 29,349.45 by the 5 p.m. close in Johannesburg.
Fortress Income Fund Ltd. (FFA) : The South African capital fund said Financial Director Nick Hanekom had resigned from the board of directors with immediate effect. The stock fell 1.4 percent to 11.81 rand.
Mr Price Group Ltd. (MPC) : The clothing and furniture retailer releases a trading update. Shares in the company declined 1.9 percent to 70.20 rand.
Mustek Ltd. (MST) : The computer-services company publishes results for the year ended June 30, which are expected to show an increase of 50 percent to 60 percent in earnings per share, the company said in a trading statement on Aug. 19. The stock ended unchanged at 5 rand.
Naspers Ltd. (NPN) : Africa’s largest media company holds its annual general meeting. Shares in the group fell 2.5 percent to 329.50 rand.
Sun International Ltd. (SUI SJ): The hotel and leisure group holds its annual general meeting. The stock gained 0.1 percent to 87 rand.
