Kilombero Sugar of Tanzania Fires Can Harvesters, Guardian Says

Kilombero Sugar Co. fired all of its 1,400 sugar harvesters after they continued a so-called go-slow even after being granted a wage increase, the Dar es Salaam- based Guardian newspaper reported, without citing anyone.

Kilombero, owned by South Africa’s Illovo Sugar Ltd. (ILV), is Tanzania’s biggest producer of the sweetener.
