Argentine Stocks: Petrobras, Sociedad Comercial, Tenaris, YPF

The following companies had unusual price changes in Argentine trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 4:28 p.m. New York time.

The Merval Index fell 1.6 percent to 2,825.38, its second day of losses. The gauge tumbled 4.8 percent during the week.

Tenaris SA (TEN) , the world’s largest producer of steel tubes used in the petroleum industry, dropped 4 percent to 67.80 pesos. Oil futures for September delivery climbed 0.3 percent today to $82.60 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Crude is near the lowest level of the year.

Sociedad Comercial del Plata SA (COME) , a holding company that produces petroleum products through its subsidiaries, fell 2.1 percent to 65 centavos.

Petroleo Brasileiro SA (PETR4) slid 1.9 percent to 58.30 pesos.

YPF SA (YPFD) , the oil and gas producer that is Argentina’s largest company by market value, decreased 1.8 percent to 161 pesos.
