Mexico Stocks: Televisa, TV Azteca Decline; Penoles Advances

The following companies had unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 4 p.m. New York time.

The IPC index rose 0.3 percent to 34,049.58.

Broadcasters followed U.S. technology companies lower. Dell Inc. tumbled in U.S. trading as slower spending on PCs and consumer technology crimped its sales forecast.

TV Azteca SAB (AZTECACP MM), Mexico’s second-largest broadcast television network, dropped 2.6 percent to 7.84 pesos. Grupo Televisa SA (TLEVICPO) , the world’s largest Spanish- language broadcaster, fell 1.4 percent to 48.88 pesos.

Industrias Penoles SAB (PE&OLES* MM), Mexico’s largest silver producer, advanced 2.2 percent to 510.15 pesos. Silver futures for September delivery rose as much as 2 percent to $40.33 an ounce on the Comex.
