The following companies are having unusual price changes in Argentine trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 11:15 a.m. New York time.
The Merval Index climbed 1 percent to 3,013.87, its fourth day of gains in the past five sessions.
Aluar Aluminio Argentino SAIC (ALUA) , which produces and sells aluminum and aluminum products for domestic use and export, rose 1.9 percent to 4.40 pesos. Aluminum gained 1.5 percent on the London Metals Exchange, breaking a two-day losing streak.
Sociedad Comercial del Plata SA (COME) , a holding company that produces petroleum products through its subsidiaries, advanced 1.8 percent to 70 centavos. Crude oil for September delivery gained $1.09, or 1.3 percent, to $87.74 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
