Zambian Court Dismisses Bid to Bar Banda Candidacy, Phoenix Says

A high court in Zambia dismissed a petition by the largest opposition party to bar President Rupiah Banda from seeking re-election on Sept. 20 because one of his parents wasn’t born in the country, Radio Phoenix reported today, citing a ruling party spokesman.
