The Stoxx Europe 600 Index fell 1.2 percent to 262.02. The Stoxx 50 Index dropped 1 percent to 2,486.60. The Euro Stoxx 50 Index, a benchmark measure for nations using the euro, decreased 2.9 percent to 2,593.34.
Barclays Plc (BARC) : The U.K.’s second-largest lender may report first-half net income of 1.3 billion pounds ($2.1 billion), according to the average of 11 estimates compiled by Bloomberg. The stock fell 2.7 percent to 217 pence.
D’Ieteren SA (DIE) : Belgium’s biggest car dealer’s share of the country’s market widened to 21.3 percent in July as car registrations fell 11 percent to 34,886, according to figures published by trade group Febiac. D’Ieteren shares lost 2.5 percent to 46.20 euros.
European Aeronautic, Defence & Space Co. (EAD FP): The Czech government said it may cancel a $200 million contract for EADS military transport aircraft unless problems with their missile protection system are rapidly resolved, Associated Press reported. The shares dropped 1 percent to 23.96 euros.
Fresnillo Plc (FRES) : The world’s largest primary silver producer reports first-half earnings. The stock retreated 1.5 percent to 1,734 pence.
Imtech NV (IM) : The largest Dutch technical-services company may say first-half net income rose to 67.5 million euros ($96.1 million) from 57 million euros a year earlier, according to the average of four analyst estimates in a Bloomberg survey. Imtech dropped 1.3 percent to 22.23 euros.
PostNL NV (PNL NA): The biggest Dutch mail carrier completed the sale of its businesses in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to ID Marketing for an undisclosed amount. PostNL shares declined 1.5 percent to 5.37 euros.
Xstrata Plc (XTA) : The mining company with operations in 19 countries may report first-half net income of $3 billion, according to the average of five estimates compiled by Bloomberg. The stock dropped 1.1 percent to 1,281 pence.
