The following companies had unusual price changes in Bogota trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 4 p.m. New York time.
The IGBC Index fell 0.8 percent to 13,945.91 while the Colcap Index retreated 0.7 percent to 1,652.59.
Enka de Colombia SA (ENKA) , a Medellin-based synthetic fibers producer, fell 0.8 percent to 11.9 pesos. Second-quarter sales dropped 6 percent from a year ago to 85.7 billion pesos, the company said in a filing yesterday. Enka reported a first- half loss of 4.4 billion pesos, compared with a loss of 1.2 billion during the same period last year.
Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana SA (GRUPOSUR) , fell the most in a month after Standard & Poor’s said it may cut the company’s ratings to junk after it agreed to pay $3.9 billion for Latin American assets of ING Groep NV.
Grupo Sura, as the Medellin-based company is known, fell 2.2 percent to 35,400 pesos. It earlier dropped as much as 5.4 percent, the most since June 13.
Bancolombia SA (BCOLO) , Colombia’s biggest bank and a unit of Sura, fell 2 percent to 28,320 pesos.
