Malacca, Neptune Orient, OKP, Sembcorp: Singapore Stock Preview

The following companies may have unusual price changes in Singapore trading today. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are from the previous close.

Singapore’s Straits Times Index lost 0.4 percent to 3,171.55.

Malacca Trust Ltd. (MTL SP): The Indonesia-based financial services company will start trading today. The company sold 85 million new shares at 22 Singapore cents each, raising total proceeds of S$18.7 million ($15.5 million).

Neptune Orient Lines Ltd. (NOL SP): Southeast Asia’s biggest container carrier said average freight revenue in the four weeks to July 1 decline 13 percent from a year earlier. It transported 5 percent more cargo during the period, the company said. The stock lost 0.3 percent to S$1.45.

OKP Holdings Ltd. (OKP) : The Singapore-based road builder said second-quarter net income increased 61 percent to S$6.9 million from a year earlier. OKP added 0.8 percent to 65 Singapore cents.

Sembcorp Industries Ltd. (SCI) : The industrial conglomerate that gets about 46 percent of its revenue from utilities said a unit got a S$121 million refuse collection and recycling contract in Singapore. The stock fell 0.8 percent to S$5.10.
