Arcelor, Brait and Medi-Clinic May Be Active in Early Johannesburg Trading

The following stocks may rise or fall in South Africa. Symbols are in parentheses and prices are from the last close.

The FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index declined 197.11, or 0.6 percent, to 31,863.73 by the 5 p.m. close in Johannesburg.

ArcelorMittal South Africa Ltd. (ACL) : Africa’s largest steelmaker releases first-half earnings. Shares in the company fell 1.4 percent to 74.20 rand.

Brait SA (BAT) : South Africa’s largest private equity company holds its annual general meeting. The stock rose 0.1 percent to 17.86 rand.

Chrometco Ltd. (CMO) : The chrome development company holds a general meeting of shareholders. The shares slumped 8.8 percent to 31 cents.

Medi-Clinic Corp. (MDC SJ): South Africa’s second-largest publicly traded private hospital holds its annual general meeting. Shares of the company rose 0.1 percent to 32.22 rand.

Nampak Ltd. (NPK) : The packaging company holds its annual general meeting. The stock declined 0.2 percent to 22.45 rand.

Optimum Coal Holdings (OPT) Ltd: The coal miner holds a general meeting of shareholders. Shares in the company fell 2 percent to 24.50 rand.
