The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, rose less than 0.1 percent to 409.36.
Information and Networking Technology Joint-Stock Co. (CMT VN), a telecommunications consulting service provider known as Infonet, slid 4 percent to 7,200 dong, a record low. Saigon Securities Inc. (SSI) cut its entire 8.75 percent stake in Infonet, according to an exchange filing. The brokerage fell 0.6 percent to 17,700 dong.
Phu Nhuan Jewelry Joint-Stock Co. (PNJ VN), the only jewelry manufacturer on the bourse, gained 4.1 percent to 27,800 dong, the highest since May 5. Gold rose to a record as U.S. lawmakers failed at the weekend to reach an agreement on raising the federal debt limit, boosting demand for haven investments on concern that the government of world’s largest economy may default.
