Thailand Stocks: Bualuang Securities, Trinity, PTT Exploration

Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 4:30 p.m. close in Bangkok.

The SET Index gained 6.54 points, or 0.6 percent, to 1,127.58, its eighth daily advance. The gauge was at its highest close since Aug. 8, 1996.

Stock brokerages: Bualuang Securities Pcl (BLS) jumped 4.6 percent to 15.90 baht, the highest close since May 12. Trinity Watthana Pcl (TNITY) climbed 3.8 percent to 4.90 baht, the most since May 27. KGI Securities (Thailand) Pcl (KGI TB) added 1.6 percent to 2.52 baht.

Trading turnover on the Stock Exchange of Thailand was 34 billion baht ($1.14 billion) a day in July, a 48 percent increase from the daily average in June, according to the bourse’s data.

PTT Exploration & Production Pcl (PTTEP) , Thailand’s only publicly traded oil explorer, declined 1.6 percent to 182.50 baht, the largest decrease since July 6. The company had its share-price estimate cut to 163 baht from 183 baht at Credit Suisse Group AG, which cited its maintenance capital expenditure.

Anon Sirisaengtaksin, PTT Exploration’s chief executive officer, wasn’t available for comment when called at his office.
