Diageo to Spend $368 Million Expansion Projects in Nigeria, ThisDay Says

Diageo Plc (DGE), the maker of Johnnie Walker scotch and Smirnoff vodka, plans to invest 56 billion naira ($368 million) in expansion of its Nigerian unit, Guinness Nigeria Plc (GUINNESS), THISDAY reported.

Guinness Nigeria plans to boost capacity at its Benin and Ogba breweries and upgrade other facilities to meet growing demand for its Harp lager and Guinness Foreign Extra Stout brands, the Lagos-based newspaper said today, citing a company statement.

In March, Guinness Nigeria Managing Director Devlin Hainsworth said the company would spend 52 billion naira on expansion this year.
