Bolton, Berjaya, Premium Nutrients: Malaysia Equity Preview
Shares of the following companies may have unusual moves in Malaysia trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the previous close, unless stated otherwise.
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBMKLCI) Index rose 0.3 percent to 1,594.74 on July 8.
Bolton Bhd. (BOL) : OSK Trustees Bhd. bought 9.47 million shares in Bolton, raising its stake in the property developer to 25 million shares, or a 8.8 percent stake, a stock filing showed. Bolton fell 0.9 percent to 1.12 ringgit.
Berjaya Corp. (BC MK): The property, insurance and gaming group scrapped plans for a dividend after saying it will privatize unit Cosway Corp. Ltd. The shares rose 0.8 percent to 1.25 ringgit.
NPC Resources Bhd. (NPC) : The oil palm plantations operator and three other parties agreed to sell their holdings in PT Prasetia Alam Sdn. for $6.37 million, according to a company statement. NPC rose 4.8 percent to 2.20 ringgit on July 6.
NWP Holdings Bhd. (NWP) : The Malaysian timber products maker agreed to form a joint venture to operate a timber processing business in Laos, it said in a statement. NWP last traded at 11 sen on July 6.
Premium Nutrients Bhd. (PRNB) : The company, which sold its palm oil processing units, will seek a new business to maintain its listing. The company has 12 months to submit a proposal to the Securities Commission or face de-listing, it said in a statement. The stock gained 18 percent to 23.5 sen.
