Spanjaard, Stratcorp, Taste, Zeder May Move: South African Equity Preview

The following stocks may rise or fall in South Africa today. Symbols are in parentheses and prices are from the last close.

FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index advanced to a more than five-week high, gaining 165.36, or 0.5 percent, to 32,296.07 in Johannesburg.

Spanjaard Ltd. (SPA) : The distributor of lubricants and chemical products holds its annual general meeting. The stock was unchanged at 4.15 rand.

Stratcorp Ltd. (STA) : The South African financial services company holds its annual general meeting. Shares were unchanged at 10 cents.

Taste Holdings Ltd. (TAS) : The restaurant operator transfers its listing from the AltX, the alternative exchange for small and medium-size companies, to the main board of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, where it will be classified as a retail company. The stock closed unchanged at 90 cents.

Zeder Investments Ltd. (ZED) : The agricultural investment group said it had acquired additional stock in Capespan Group Ltd., taking its shareholding in the fruit exporter to 36.1 percent and triggering a mandatory offer to minority shareholders in the company. The stock fell 2 cents, or 0.8 percent, to 2.56 rand.
