European Stocks Extend Gains as Trichet Suspends Portugal Collateral Rules
European stocks extended their advance as European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet said the bank will suspend collateral rules for Portugal.
The Stoxx Europe 600 Index rallied 1.1 percent to 277.81 at 1:55 p.m. in London, the highest level in a month.
