Continental, Deutsche Bank, EnBW: German Equity Preview

The following is a list of companies whose shares may have unusual price changes in Germany. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are from the previous close.

The DAX Index (DAX) slipped 0.1 percent to 7,439.44.

Bechtle AG (BC8) (BC8 GY): The German computer and software retailer may focus on current operations rather than expanding to new markets, Boersen-Zeitung reported, citing Chief Executive Officer Thomas Olemotz. The shares rose 1.6 percent to 31.36 euros.

Continental AG (CON) : Europe’s second-largest car-parts maker plans to increase spending on technology for electric- powered cars, Handelsblatt reported, citing Ralf Cramer, a member of the company’s executive board. The stock slipped 0.2 percent to 73.61 euros.

Deutsche Bank AG (DBK) : Germany’s biggest bank will refrain from laying off staff through December 2014 as it integrates Deutsche Postbank AG, the DBV labor union said in an e-mailed statement. The shares fell 0.8 percent to 41.18 euros.

EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG (EBK) : Germany’s third-largest utility may sell part of its high-voltage grid to counter an expected drop in profits following the country’s plan to abandon nuclear power, said Ulrich Schroeder, a company spokesman. The stock rose 1.6 percent to 39 euros.
