South African Taxi Operators Plan to Start New Airline, Business Day Says

The South African Taxi Council, which represents about 95 percent of taxi operators in the country, plans to start a budget airline that will sell shares on the Johannesburg exchange, Business Day reported.
Santaco Express will probably start in November, the Johannesburg-based newspaper cited Danie Coetzee, the council’s aviation consultant, as saying. Santaco has more than 180,000 members, it said.
