Mauritius to Spend 21.5 Billion Rupees on Roads Until 2013, Le Defi Says

Mauritius will invest 21.5 billion rupees ($756 million) on road infrastructure from 2011 to 2013, Le Defi Quotidien reported, citing Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam.

The number of vehicles in the country has increased 57 percent to about 400,000 in 2011 compared with 2001, the Port Louis-based newspaper cited Ramgoolam.
