Springer Plans to Combat Apple With IKiosk, Handelsblatt Says

Axel Springer AG (SPR) plans to open its iKiosk digital sales platform to competing publishers in coming months to offer alternatives to Apple Inc. (AAPL)’s iTunes, Handelsblatt reported, citing Georg Konjovic, the company’s director of premium content.
The platform will charge less than the 30 percent fee on iTunes sales, the newspaper cited Konjovic as saying.
