Top-Ranked India Defeats West Indies by 63 Runs in Cricket Series Opener

Top-ranked India beat West Indies by 63 runs to go 1-0 up in their three-match Test cricket series.

Praveen Kumar and Ishant Sharma each took three wickets as India dismissed the home team for 262 in its second innings on day four at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica, after setting a victory target of 326.

India recovered from 85-6 on the opening day to post its fifth win in 43 Tests in the Caribbean with a day to spare. Rahul Dravid was named man of the match after top scoring with 112 in India’s second-innings 252.

The second Test starts June 28 in Barbados and the final match begins July 6 in Dominica.
