Peru Stocks: Atacocha, Candente, Edegel, Intergroup, Telefonica

The following companies had unusual price changes in Peru trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and share prices are as of 4:10 p.m. New York time.

The Lima General Index declined for a fourth day, losing 0.7 percent to 19,013.57. The MSCI All Peru Capped Index slid 0.3 percent to 2,465.99.

Industrial stocks and utilities slumped on investor concern over future policies of President-elect Ollanta Humala, who takes office July 28, Jose Luis Bustamante, head of trading at Cartisa SAB, said in a telephone interview.

Telefonica del Peru SAA (TEF PE), the local unit of Telefonica SA (TEF), dropped 5.1 percent to $22.51. Austral Group SA (AUSTRAC1 PE), a unit of Austevoll Seafood ASA, fell 3.6 percent to 27 centimos. Edegel SA (EDEGELC1 PE), the Peruvian unit of Spain’s Endesa SA, declined 3.6 percent to 1.63 soles.

Intergroup Financial Services Corp. (IFS) , owner of Peru’s fourth-largest bank Interbank, fell 4.6 percent to $24.80. Scotiabank Peru SA (SCOTIAC1) (SCOTIAC1 PE), the local unit of Canada’s third-largest bank, dropped 3.5 percent to 43.51 soles, a 10-month low.

Copper and silver miners dropped as the metals declined in New York.

Candente Copper Corp. (DNT) , a Canadian exploration company, fell 3.9 percent to $1.25. Cia. Minera Atacocha SA (ATACOBC1 PE), the Lima-based silver and zinc mining company, dropped 3.7 percent to 1.05 soles. Cia. Minera Milpo (MILPOC1 PE), a silver and zinc producer controlled by Sao Paulo-based Votorantim Metais Ltda., slid 1.9 percent to 5.85 soles.
