Russian Equity Movers: Lukoil, Tatneft, Novatek Shares Active
The 30-stock Micex Index (INDEXCF) climbed 0.7 percent to 1,638.01 by 12:36 p.m. in Moscow, snapping the longest losing streak since October 2008. The dollar-denominated RTS Index advanced 0.8 percent to 1,873.80.
The following are among the most active stocks in the Russian market today. Stock symbols are in parenthesis.
OAO Lukoil (LKOH RX), OAO Tatneft (TATN) (TATN3 RX) and OAO Gazprom Neft (SIBN RX) all gained as oil producers benefited from a climb in crude futures of as much as $1.48 to $94.74 per barrel. Lukoil rose 0.5 percent to 1,746 rubles, Tatneft advanced 1.8 percent to 168 rubles and Gazprom Neft gained 0.6 percent to 122.75 rubles.
OAO Novatek (NOTK RX) rose 1.2 percent to 334.40 rubles. Russia’s second-largest gas producer may acquire the natural gas assets that OAO Alrosa sold to VTB Capital in 2009, Novatek’s press service said late yesterday.
