India May Allow Multi-Brand Retail FDI in Cities, Standard Says

India’s government may allow foreign investments in multi-brand retail in the nation’s six largest cities, the Business Standard newspaper reported today, without saying where it got the information.

The government may permit 51 percent of foreign ownership in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, according to the report.
