Italian-Thai, Ratchaburi, Thai Tap: Thailand Equity Preview

Shares of the following companies may have unusual moves in Thailand trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the previous close, unless stated otherwise.

The SET Index fell 4.61, or 0.5 percent, to 1,030.31.

Italian-Thai Development Pcl (ITD) : Thailand’s largest construction company won a contract worth 8.07 billion baht ($264 million) from the State Railway of Thailand. The stock fell 0.6 percent to 3.38 baht.

Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Pcl (RATCH) : The state-controlled power producer said the company signed an agreement with other partners to build a 390-megawatt hydropower plant in Laos. Ratchaburi owns a 25 percent stake in the project, which will start commercial operation in 2018, it said in a regulatory filing. Ratchaburi fell 0.6 percent to 42 baht.

Thai Tap Water Supply Pcl (TTW) : The water supplier plans to invest 2.5 billion baht ($82 million) in solar power projects to expand its renewable-energy business, Kao Hoon reported, citing Chief Financial Officer Somkiat Pattamamongkolchai. Thai Tap is in talks with as many as three solar-farm operators, the report said. Negotiations will probably be concluded in the second half of the year, it said. Thai Tap rose 0.9 percent to 5.7 baht.
