Namibia’s Geingob Wants Conditions on Wal-Mart, Namibian Says
Namibian Trade and Industry Minister Hage Geingob said he would fight to impose conditions on Wal- Mart Stores Inc.’s entry into the southern African nation, The Namibian reported.
The High Court ruled last week that Wal-Mart’s purchase of a controlling stake in South Africa’s Massmart Holdings Ltd. can be implemented in Namibia without conditions placed by the nation’s antitrust commission.
Geingob said he was disappointment with the ruling, the Windhoek-based newspaper said.
