French Builders Bid for London Project on Barratt Exit, FT Says

French construction companies Bouygues SA (BOUY), in partnership with private-equity firm The Carlyle Group, and Vinci SA (DG), together with U.K. regeneration specialist St Modwen Properties Plc (SMP), are competing for a 1 billion-pound residential project at the 57-acre New Covent Garden Market in south London, after U.K. builder Barratt Developments Plc (BDEV) withdrew from the bidding, the Financial Times reported, without attribution.
