Japan Reports 342 Fault Lines Near Nuclear Plants, Yomiuri Says

Japan’s nuclear safety agency received 342 reports of geological fault lines near nuclear plants from 12 companies operating atomic facilities, including power generators, the Yomiuri newspaper said.
The tectonic faults aren’t recognized as active and the agency plans to investigate whether they need to be taken into consideration in designing nuclear power plants, the paper said.
