Kentucky Derby Winner Animal Kingdom to Run in New York’s Belmont Stakes

Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom will run in the Belmont Stakes on June 11, the third leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown.

Animal Kingdom won the Derby by 2 3/4 lengths and finished second behind Shackleford in the Preakness Stakes in Baltimore on May 21.

The Belmont is run at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York. At 1 1/2 miles, it is the longest of the Triple Crown events.
