Antonov Considers Foreign Engines for Its Planes, Izvestia Says

Ukrainian state aircraft maker ANTK Antonov is looking at using engines made by General Electric Co. (GE), Rolls-Royce Group Plc (RR/) or United Technologies Corp.’s Pratt & Whitney, Ekonomicheskie Izvestia reported, citing Dmytro Kiva, the head of Antonov.

Antonov currently fits engines made by VAT Motor-Sich, a Ukrainian engine-maker, according to the newspaper.

Ukrainian aircraft makers will probably start using foreign engines in two or three years, Izvestia cited Deputy Prime Minister Borys Kolesnikov as saying.
