Erkki Liikanen, council member of the European Central Bank, said it’s possible to get the European debt crisis under control.
Greece must implement all programs to stabilize its public finances, reduce red tape and sell some of its assets, Liikanen said in a television interview on Finland’s MTV3 today. He also called for shareholders to recapitalize banks in Europe and said banks shouldn’t pay dividends before their capital base and solvency are adequate.
