Kenya’s Third-Quarter Fiscal Deficit $1.3 Billion, or 4 Percent of GDP

Kenya’s overall fiscal deficit as of March 31, the third quarter of its fiscal year, was 109.1 billion shillings, or 4 percent of gross domestic product, compared to a target of 191.5 billion, the Finance Ministry said in a statement on its website May 11.
Kenya’s third-quarter revenue collection was below target by 35 billion shillings, while the country recorded a spending and net-lending shortfall of 117.4 billion shillings in the same period, it said.
