Ghana 2010-11 Cocoa Harvest to Reach Record High at 930,000 Metric Tons

Ghana’s total 2010-11 cocoa harvest will reach 930,000 metric tons, the highest in the West African nation’s history, said Yaw Adu-Ampomah, deputy chief executive of the Ghana Cocoa Board.
The main crop, which ends May 19, will reach 860,000 tons, while the light, or mid, crop will produce 70,000 tons, he said by phone from Accra, the capital, today.
