Zambia Aims to Build Two Power Plants Costing $295 Million, Regulator Says

Zambia’s Energy Regulation Board approved the construction of two power plants that will cost a total $295 million, said Kwali Mfuni, spokeswoman for the Lusaka-based regulator.
Itezhi Tezhi Power Corp. and Ndola Energy Co. were given permission to build new plants, Mfuni said in an e-mailed statement.
Zambia’s is Africa’s biggest copper producer.
