Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayii AS (BTCIM) , the cement producer based in Izmir in western Turkey, surged 1.04 liras, or 11 percent, to 10.12 liras, gaining for a sixth day. Its unit Baticim Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS was invited by Turkey’s asset sales agency to buy two plants with a combined 59.5 megawatts capacity in southern Turkey by a July 4 deadline, according to statements to the bourse yesterday. The company can also buy three smaller plants from the agency, Baticim said.
Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS (PETKM) : Turkey’s biggest petrochemicals producer gained 7 kurus, or 2.6 percent, to 2.75 liras. First-quarter net income almost quadrupled from a year earlier to 77.2 million liras ($50 million), Petkim said in a statement to the bourse after the market closed yesterday. The profit exceeded estimates compiled by Bloomberg.
