StarHub’s First-Quarter Income Rises 62% to S$69.1 Million

StarHub Ltd. (STH), Singapore’s second- largest phone company, reported a 62 percent rise in first- quarter net profit as revenue increased from fixed-line and mobile services.

StarHub posted a net profit of S$69.1 million, from S$42.7 million in the same quarter last year, according to a statement today to the Singapore stock exchange. Revenue from fixed- network services rose 4.6 percent, while revenue from mobile services gained 3.3 percent.

Programming costs for pay-television businesses decreased, the company said.
