AMAG Says First-Quarter Profit Rises 67% to 17.5 Million Euros

AMAG Austria Metall AG, the aluminum producer which listed in Vienna in April, said its first-quarter profit soared 67 percent after sales increased.

Net income rose to 17.5 million euros from 10.5 million euros a year earlier, the Ranshofen, Austria-based company said in a report on its website today.

With first-quarter results “confirming” the positive “overall outlook for the company,” AMAG is “equally confident of achieving continued good results for the rest of the year,” according to the aluminum producer.
