FAO Head Considering Bid for Senegal’s Presidency, Website Says

Jacques Diouf, director general of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, is preparing a bid to contest Senegal’s 2012 presidential election, the Dakar-based website Politico.sn said, citing Diouf’s friends and family members that it didn’t identify.
The 72-year-old ex-Senegalese ambassador to the U.S. has led the UN food aid agency since 1994, according to the FAO’s website.
