Stoke beat Wolverhampton 3-0 to improve its chances of staying in English soccer’s Premier League.
Kenwyne Jones, Ryan Shawcross and Jermaine Pennant scored as Stoke jumped up five places to ninth place in the 20-team league. The Potters have 42 points, eight more than the three teams in the relegation places at the bottom of the standings, with four games remaining.
Wolves remain 19th with 33 points, one fewer than Blackpool in 17th place.
