Nissan to Recall Pathfinders, QX4 SUV on Rust, Detroit News Says

Nissan Motor Co. plans to recall at least 195,000 Pathfinder and Infiniti QX4 SUVs because of concern rust might cause the steering column to break, the Detroit News reported, citing a notice posted on a government website.

The recall will affect 162,658, 1996-2004 Pathfinder and 33,333, 1997-2003 Infiniti QX4 vehicles sold or registered in 20 states that use heavy amounts of road salt in cold weather, the newspaper said.
