Liverpool plans to release Joe Cole after one season at Anfield, the Sun reported.

Cole started eight of 34 league games since joining from Chelsea on a 100,000 pounds-a-week ($165,280) contract, the Sun said. The Reds would want 10 million pounds for the 29-year-old midfielder, according to the Sun.

Wenger’s Woe

Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger said it’s his fault after the Gunners blew their Premier League title hopes, the Guardian reported.

Wenger said “if someone is to blame, it is me,” according to the Guardian, adding his team lacks “maturity and experience and calm.” Arsenal lost 2-1 at Bolton at the weekend and is nine points behind leader Manchester United.

Russian Pompey

Russian Vladimir Antonov agreed to buy Portsmouth for 17 million pounds, the Daily Mail reported.

Dorset, England-based Antonov, who will become the team’s fifth owner in three years, is part of the Convers Sports Initiatives group, the Mail said.

Balotelli’s Car

Mario Balotelli has had his Maserati sports car impounded 27 times for parking infractions since joining Manchester City last year, the Sun reported.

The club’s valet “empties the glove box” of parking tickets every time he cleans the vehicle, the Sun said.
