Suzlon Wins 50.4-Megawatt Order From Gujarat State Fertilizers

Suzlon Energy Ltd. (SUEL), India’s largest wind-turbine maker, said it won its fifth order from Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd., and will set up and operate 50.4 megawatts of turbine capacity by September.

Ahmedabad-based Suzlon will install 24 turbines in Rajkot and Surendranagar in the northwestern state, Suzlon said in an e-mailed statement today.

Suzlon will use its 2.1-megawatt S88 turbines at the farms. The projects will boost Gujarat State Fertilizer’s installed wind-power capacity by 70 percent to 123.4 megawatts, Suzlon said.
