Microsoft’s AAA Can Withstand U.S. ‘Negative’ Outlook, S&P Says

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) is among AAA rated non-financial corporate borrowers in the U.S. that are unaffected by Standard & Poor’s lowering its outlook for the country’s debt.

“The global business profile and the significant financial strength” of Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) and Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) justify a “stable” outlook for their AAA ratings, S&P said today in a statement.

Automatic Data Processing Inc. (ADP) also maintains a “stable” outlook, the New York-based ratings company said.
