Draghi Pre-Selected as ECB’s Trichet Successor, Standard Reports

Bank of Italy Governor Mario Draghi has been pre-selected to succeed Jean-Claude Trichet as European Central Bank president, Der Standard reported, without citing anyone.

Germany has passed on proposing a candidate and alternatives to Draghi aren’t in sight, the Vienna-based newspaper said.
