Copper producers: Minmetals Resources Ltd. (1208), the Hong Kong unit of China’s biggest metals trader, made an unsolicited offer of about C$6.3 billion ($6.5 billion) in cash for Equinox Minerals Ltd. (EQN) to add copper assets in Africa and the Middle East.
Oil stocks: Oil climbed for a third day in New York, reaching a 30-month high, after the U.S. added more jobs than economists forecast, signaling fuel demand may increase in the world’s biggest crude-consuming nation.
Woodside Petroleum Ltd. (WPL) , Australia’s second- biggest oil and gas producer, rose 1.4 percent to A$48.07. Santos Ltd. (STO AU) gained 1.4 percent to A$16.18.
New Zealand Oil & Gas Ltd. (NZO) , the nation’s biggest publicly traded explorer, climbed 2.2 percent to 94 New Zealand cents in Wellington.
