Benakat, Davomas Abadi, Jasa Marga: Indonesia Equity Preview

Shares of the following companies may have unusual moves in Indonesian trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses, and share prices are as of the previous close.

The Jakarta Composite index (JCI) fell 0.3 percent to 3,591.52.

Oil companies: Crude oil futures rose for the first time in four days, advancing 0.8 percent to $104.79 a barrel in New York yesterday. The contract was at $104.45 a barrel as of 7:56 a.m. Jakarta time.

PT Medco Energi Internasional (MEDC IJ), Indonesia’s biggest listed oil company, declined 0.9 percent to 2,825 rupiah and PT Benakat Petroleum Energy (BIPI IJ) slipped 1.1 percent to 87 rupiah.

PT Davomas Abadi (DAVO IJ): PT Uniflora Prima agreed to acquire a 51.86 percent stake in the Indonesian producer of cocoa products for $77 million, or 108 rupiah a share, from five shareholders, Uniflora said. The company will offer to buy Davomas’s remaining shares from the public through a tender offer, it said. Davomas jumped 13 percent to 80 rupiah.

PT Jasa Marga (JSMR IJ): The company’s 2010 net income rose to 1.19 trillion rupiah ($136.5 million) from 992 billion rupiah a year earlier, the Indonesian toll-road operator said in a statement published in Bisnis Indonesia. A survey of analysts by Bloomberg estimated net income of 1.3 trillion rupiah for the full year. Jasa Marga gained 2.3 percent to 3,375 rupiah.
